Jeronimo

This morning was not unlike any other morning at our house. Daddy had just left for work, Wubs was watching PBS kids, and I was in the kitchen. Bella was beginning to wake up and familiar little noises were coming from her room. I finished getting Wubs' breakfast ready, when THUD! (Followed by loud crying.) I ran into Bella's room to find her laying on the floor, flat on her back, screaming-crying. I scooped her up, tears in my own eyes and rocked her, kissed her, all the while feeling for any broken little bones. She calmed down but wanted to lay on my shoulder and seemed very sleepy. I called David and we decided it was best to take her to the doctor- just in case she had hurt her head in any way. Praise God- she is just fine! (Emma Grace slept in her crib until she was nearly 27 months old, and never once did she attempt such a feat. Bella must have used some serious upper body strength to hurl her little body up over the side of her crib! ) We didn't know Bella knew how to say "Jeronimo!!!!" wink!

Below is a picture taken today as Emma Grace and Bella brought a friend to Jumpin' Beans, our favorite inflatable playground. The girls had a lot of fun together!

"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstance, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

  1. oh geez!!! I'm glad she is ok!!!

That was Nathan at 18 months too. He didn't use his upper body strength, he gripped the bars with his toes and shimmied up. I ended up having to put him in a toddler bed because he kept doing it.

  2. Landon never once tried to crawl out of his crib, but he was super rough on it (bouncing around, kicking it from the inside, etc), and since we're pretty sure we're only going to have one more, I refuse to buy a new crib. So we switched him to a big boy bed in about January. He started having trouble sleeping after James left, so one night while he was with my mom this past week, she tried putting him back into a pack n play. My little boy quickly and quietly swung one leg over the side and then the other and got out! No falling, no screaming! Boys are natural climbers, I think! Are you going to think about putting Bella in a big girl bed, or are you going to get one of those net things like what Gavin has?

  4. That is one of the most frightening things. You never know what can happen. Some children a just a little more adventerous than others. Oh Joy! It all goes with the territory
