(semi) Wordless Wednesday

My friend Pam has a special feature on her blog every Wednesday called 'Wordless Wednesday'. It's such a fun idea, and we wanted to add it to our blog too! Today it's only semi-wordless Wednesday because I wanted to give a shout out to thank Pam for sharing her creativity! (And as a side note, God has been teaching me a lot about being 'wordless' myself. I'm adding some scriptures at the bottom that have really been on my heart.)

"Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips."- Psalm 141:3
"When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise."- Proverbs 10:19

Wubs and marriage

Last week, I pulled out our wedding album to show Wubs and Bella. They thought it was fascinating! They loved the pictures of Papa and Nana, Grandpa and Grandma, daddy and his groomsmen, and mommy dressed like a 'princess'. It was a lot of fun to sit and look through all those pictures with my two favorite girls! Daddy invited us to go out for ice-cream, and while we were riding in the car, Wubs asked:
"Mommy, how will I get married?"
"Well, there will be a boy who loves Jesus a lot. And he'll love you, too! Then he'll say, 'Wubs, will you marry me?". And you will pray about it, and then you'll say 'yes' or 'no'. "
"
Yes- OR No?! I'll say Yes, of course!"
Wubs and her pet caterpillar, Lucky. Bella was curious about Lucky...
Eeeeew!

God's provision

Poor Bella Wella. What started out as a little tummyache on Easter morning, which was misdiagnosed by mommy as too much candy and excitement, turned out to be a full-blown stomach virus. By Wednesday morning, every towel, blankie, and 2T pajamas, were soiled. And that's when I realized we were fresh out of laundry detergent. As I sat on our couch with Wubs and Bella, I stared at Curious George on the television screen, feeling exhausted. I didn't know what to do- do I let all that laundry sit until David gets home from work, while the stench flowed through our home, or do I attempt taking the girls to the store and risk the possible projectile vomiting in aisle 6? I took a deep breath, and I prayed that God would help me make this decision. I can always take comfort in His sufficiency and I just knew that He would help me figure this out. It was then that our telephone rang. My friend Lorri was calling to say good morning. She immediately asked me if everything was okay- I guess I must have sounded a little tired. I told her about our night and she asked if I needed anything. "Well, to be honest with you, I need some laundry detergent. But I'm just not sure I should take Bella to the store." Lorri insisted on bringing me some detergent, even though the danger of coming to our germ-infested house was great. wink. When Lorri arrived, she came not only bearing laundry detergent, but also Sprite, pedialyte, and popsicles! I just had to laugh at God's precious provision. He had it under control the whole time, and just to remind me how much He loves me and cares about those little details in my life, He even threw in some posicles!

Easter Weekend

Happy Easter! What a beautiful weekend God gave us, as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus! Grandpa and Grandma came to North Carolina to spend the holiday at our house. We stayed busy, attending our church's Easter drama on Friday night, enjoying an Easter egg hunt on Saturday morning, having a picnic at the park, and going out for some ice-cream! On Easter, we went to church and then after lunch, we celebrated Grandpa's 70th birthday together. We made lots of special memories!
Wubs loved the Easter egg hunt! She was especially excited about the rings and candy inside her eggs. (Wubs gave her stickers and tatoos to Bella. Before Bella's bath on Saturday night, she could have been mistaken for a 2 year old 'biker chick'. Ha ha!)

There were sheep at the egg hunt, too! Some were inside the pen and some were roaming free!
