Mommy and Me journals

Last week, we started our Mommy and Me journals! David and I want the girls to feel like they can
always confide in us, discuss any of their questions with us, and ask us to pray for them. My precious friend Pam told me about a project called 'Mommy and Me journals' and I knew we needed to try it! (Thank you Pam! Love you!) Here is what we have been doing...
Wubs has a pink journal, and Bella has a purple journal. I started the journals by writing
a letter inside each notebook, and I left them on their beds while they were sleeping. (With Wubs, I am trying to write words that I know she can sound out so she can continue to build her confidence in reading. With Bella, I am drawing a picture and writing a short sentence about the picture.) The girls have loved waking up and reading their journals! Then, they write me back.
They leave their journals on my nightstand for me to find. It has been SO much fun! We have written back and forth every day, and I'm not sure who likes it more- mommy or the girls! wink. I am hoping we will continue this journaling project into the teen years. We have some dear family friends that journaled with their children while they were growing up, and they have kept these journals. Now, both of their children are grown and married, but they love to read these journals and enjoy all the stories from years ago!
Below are some fun pictures with our sweet little buddy, Zachary! (Zachary is Pam's son, my friend that told me about the mommy and me journals. We love, love, love you, Weber family!)
These were just so cute, I had to post them!

"Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good."- 1 Peter 2:2-3
