Sisters...
Last night David couldn't join us for dinner because of a training at the YMCA. Emma Grace really wanted to go play at Chic-Fil-A (she loves the playground area) so the girls had a little night out! There were many, many friends in the playground area since kids eat free on Tuesday nights. Bella wasn't so sure she wanted me to put her down once she saw all the children running and playing. She sat on my lap while Emma Grace disappeared up into the tunnels. But everytime Wubs would slide down, Bella hopped off my lap to go play with her sister. Wubs was so sweet, playing Bella for a few minutes before climbing back up the tunnels. Bella knew Wubs would 'protect' her, and I think Wubs is really starting to enjoy her little shadow. wink.

Singin' In the Rain
Wubs was trying to catch a few raindrops on her tongue!
Bella was having so much fun! She splashed and (literally) ran around in circles! wink!
Taking a little break from the fun...
I asked Wubs to give Bella a rainy day snug. Sweethearts!

The Easter Story
Emma Grace is very excited about the Easter bunny! She is already playing with her Easter basket, hiding plastic eggs, and asking (frequently) if Easter is coming soon. The other day we talked about the real reason we celebrate Easter, and her response was precious:
"Wubs, remember when we celebrated Christmas, and Santa came to our house?"
"Yeah! And he brought me Beggie Tales and Bruno?" (Veggie Tales and a Pluto dog)
"Mmm-hmmm. And do you remember that we really celebrate Christmas because it is Jesus' happy birthday? Well, Easter is very wonderful, too, and not just because the Easter Bunny is coming!"
"And I get candy and eggs and toys!"
"That's right, the Easter Bunny will bring treats. But the reason why Easter is sooo special is because guess what happened? Remember how Jesus had friends, called the disciples? Well, there were people who didn't want to be Jesus' friends. They didn't like Jesus, and they were angry. They decided to hit Jesus, and kick Jesus, and throw rocks at him..."
"Oh, mama! That's not nice!" (Sad little eyes, hanging on my every word)
"And then, they took a hammer and they hit Jesus' hands and feet with nails and they put him on a cross. And he died on the cross, Wubs."
"Jesus died for us on the cross. I remember." (Wubs let out a big sigh...she really did remember that part! Daddy prays with Wubs each night. She remembers what he's told her! )
"After Jesus died, they took him off of the cross and put him inside a cave, called a tomb. And they rolled a really big, big rock in front of the door. But then guess what happened?? Three days later, Jesus came out! He was ALIVE, Wubs!!"
Wubs entire face lit up with excitement- " Wow mama! That was the biggest surprise for the world!!!!"
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. wink!

Puddle soup and playin' catch!
Just up the road from our house, there is a low spot where a puddle always forms after the rain. Each time we go for a walk, Emma Grace loves to look for 'our puddle'. This weekend, just for a fun surprise, I brought a couple of kitchen spoons along on our walk. The girls were thrilled with the idea of stirring the puddle, splashing, and making puddle soup. Bella got the wrong idea about the soup, though! wink!
Daddy taught Wubs a new trick! She can now catch popcorn in her mouth while swinging! Not only does daddy have excellent aim, but Wubs learned quickly to close her mouth after she'd made a big catch! We all laughed and laughed at the new talent.

At Daddy's school...
Today Wubs asked me the sweetest little question:
"Mommy, does daddy play on the playground at his school?" (David is a student at Southeastern Baptist Seminary. We frequently drive past "daddy's school" as the seminary is located in Wake Forest. Wubs has noticed the colorful preschool playground on campus. )
"No, honey, daddy sits in his class and listens to his teacher."
Wubs paused. "But if he listens really nice and he's a good boy, then does he get to play on the playground?"

Lunch Date with Daddy
This morning daddy invited his girls for a lunch date. What a special treat! As I was dressing the girls, I was talking about our plans for the day. Wubs was a little confused about the idea of a lunch date, because usually a 'date' means we are going to have a babysitter. "Mommy, who is going to come watch me until you come back?" "This is a special date, Wubs! Daddy is taking mommy, Wubs, and Bella for a date." Her little face lit up. "Oh, wow! That's a great day!"

Little Patients in Recovery
Both of our little girls are now recovering from the yucky stomach bug that swept through our house on Tuesday night. Wubs has enjoyed having popsicles for breakfast , and Bella has loved the multiple tubbie times she's had in the last few days. God graciously 'spared' daddy and mommy from the germs, and as always, He listened to our prayers and gave us the grace to endure the situation at hand! (This little story will explain the 'Quote of the Day'. wink)

Where's Bella?
On Saturday morning, while daddy was paying bills and mommy was tidying up the kitchen, Bella went 'missing'. Emma Grace was giggling in the living room, and I could hear muffled little noises. "Wubs, where's Bella?"
"I don't know?" giggled Wubs.
I picked up a pillow from the mountain created on our couch. Bella was all smiles.
"Put it back, mommy! She likes it!!!" I replaced the pillow and went to get daddy and the camera. We had fun peeking at Bella beneath the pillows, and she loved the new game! David and I thank God each day for the blessing of parenthood!

Two Little Girls, One Box of Fun!
One afternoon last week as I was baking cookies, the girls spent nearly an hour entertaining themselves with a cardboard box! Emma Grace gave Bella 'rides', they climbed in together and I pushed, and we even cut the box to make a 'car door'. The pictures were so fun, I couldn't resist posting them!

3 blogs for the price of 1...wink...
"Bella! Look out the window!!! It snowed while we were sleepin'!" The girls were thrilled about the beautiful snow we had earlier this week. Bella is still mystified by this cold white fluff. The last time it snowed, Bella literally didn't move when we went outside. This time, Bella enjoyed playing and watching Emma Grace make snow angels.
The end has come to the 'Great Bunny Stand-Off'! Wubs had a change of heart! She decided (after 8 days) that Bella could indeed have a turn playing with bunny. It was wonderful to see how the Lord used this opportunity to not only train us as parents, but teach Wubs a valuable lesson in sharing and loving others.
Last Saturday morning, daddy had a great idea! He suggested we take a little trip to Jumpin' Beans, an 'inflatables' playground in Wake Forest. We all had such a great time. The playground is in the Factory, where the Factory YMCA is located, so daddy & mommy got some exercise on the treadmil, and then the girls enjoyed getting some exercise being little jumpin' beans!
