Directions?

(This picture was taken last week at the WF park. )
Today after church, the girls had a picnic lunch on our living room floor. Wubs wanted to watch a movie we borrowed from the library, Fievel Goes West while they ate their pizza. After watching for a few minutes, Wubs asked, "Mommy, what is 'west'?"
"Well, in this movie, 'west' means the part of the country where the cowboys live."

Wubs was not satisfied with my response. "But what is it? What IS 'west'?"
"West is a direction. Fievel went to the west. There is north, south, east and west."
"Easter is a direction? What about the Easter bunny?"
"No, not East-er, just east. Maybe you should ask daddy. Mommy isn't very good at giving directions."
Wubs shrugged and I smiled to myself. I am hopeless when it comes to directions- and David is like a human compass! Even though I will never be an expert at reading a map, I am so thankful for the Bible and the Holy Spirit, to guide my life at every turn. It is such an incredible blessing to have a Heavenly Father that tells me, "Sarah, I already planned a path for you. Follow me, and I'll show you where to go." It brings such comfort to my heart to know when I lose my focus or my feet slip, God is always there to teach me and show me the way.

"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."- Psalm 103:12

  1. I already liked you, but the fact that you are showing your kids American Tail movies makes me like you even more. They were my favorites when I was a kid. :)
