Our Journey Home

We have been praising God for sunshine and warm weather at our house! In fact, there have been a few days hot enough to even enjoy our sprinkler! When I was sitting outside with the girls, taking pictures and watching them play in the water, I quickly found myself aware of how uncomfortable I was becoming in the heat. The entertainment was sweet, but I knew if I was going to stay outside for any length of time, I needed to make a change! I went inside to grab us all a cool drink, rolled up my t-shirt sleeves, and found a place in the shade. I thought about my relationship with the Lord, and how 'uncomfortable' I become when I try to do my everyday routine by my own strength. It never fails- those are the days when I am left feeling the most exhausted, the most frustrated, and the most defeated. I am praying that I will work hard to spend each day celebrating the Lord's goodness, mercy, and love... especially in the times when I feel the 'heat'. I pray I'll always remember how refreshing it is to walk with the Lord!

"I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land."- Psalm 143:6
