We always pray in the car, usually praying specifically about our destination. (For example, if we are headed to the dentist, we pray about our time at the dentist office. If we are headed to a playdate, we pray about our behavior/ obedience and we thank God for our friends, etc.) However, we have been playing a fun new game with our children when we are in the car, and they LOVE it! When we are out running errands, we play the 'red light game'. We use our stops at the red lights as a time to tell Jesus thank you or to pray for someone. The girls think about their prayer requests and praises while I'm driving and then when we begin to approach a stoplight, they start shouting out all their ideas. We pray for many of our friends and our family, we thank God for a variety of his blessings, and we always end up laughing from all the excitement! It makes our car trips joyful and it helps us keep our hearts thankful. Even JJ gets in on the action, giggling and babbling right along with us! wink!
